My Tumble Dryer make a humming sound / the drum will not turn. The most likely cause of this problem is a faulty Motor Capacitor. You’ll normally see the Motor Capacitor bolted to the Motor / bolted to the Cabinet.
- Check the Motor Capacitor. Replace if Faulty.

There are two main types of Ovens.
Non Fan-Assisted Ovens – The Oven Elements are fitted on the Inner Side Walls of the Oven. This type of Oven is also known as a Static Oven. It doesn’t have a Fan Oven Motor fitted in the Oven.
(a) If the Temperature Indicator Lamp (on the control panel) lights up when set the oven temperature is set, the next thing to check is the oven elements. They’re normally fitted on the side walls of the oven. Replace if faulty.
(b) If the Temperature Indicator Lamp (on the control panel) doesn’t light up when set the oven temperature is set, the next thing to check is theoven thermostat to make the power is coming in/out of the oven stat.
Fan-Assisted Ovens – The Oven Element is fitted on the Inner Back Wall of the Oven (Around the Fan Blade).

Quite a common fault. It’s very tight to fit / there’s no adjustment on the motor. This belt is the elasticated type. Click here to to see the belt.

Loss of suction is normally caused by one of the following faults:
Blockage in the suction hose.
(a) Disconnect the hose from the vacuum cleaner. You should feel strong suction in the vacuum cleaner.
(b) If you feel suction at the vacuum cleaner, the hose may be blocked and needs to be cleared.
(c) If not try the following:
- Filter Blocked. Clean the filter. Replace if faulty. There are at least two filters in your vacuum cleaner – pre/motor and post/motor.
- Paper Dustbag is full/clogged. Replace if full.
- Damaged/Broken Belt. Replace if faulty.
- Brush Roll worn/broken. Replace if faulty.

I can hear the Motor running, but, my Tumble Dryer drum will not turn. The most likely cause of this problem is a faulty Drum Belt. You’ll normally see the Drum Belt lying on the Tumble Dryer floor inside the tumble dryer.

- Check The Drum Belt - Replace if Faulty.
- Check that the Drum rotates freely. If the Tumble Dryer Drum is Stiff, Check the Front Bearings/Slides for signs of wear – Replace if Faulty.
- If the Drum rotates freely and the Drum Belt is properly around the Drum itself. Check the Motor Capacitor. Replace if Faulty.

Normally this is caused by either of three faults.
- Check the Oven Element – Replace if Faulty.
- Check the Mains Terminal Block (where the input cable enters the cooker)- Replace if Faulty.
- Check the Oven Bulb – Replace if Faulty

We’ve come across this before. The most cost-effective way is to replace the door itself. It’s stronger / cheaper than the new-type door surround from Whirlpool. Fitting this door is a better solution for your Tumble Dryer and your pocket!
